A Most Deserved Expression of Thanks

      Vacation Bible School is an event that depends upon the willingness of our members to put their normal schedules on hold for a week during the summer to staff the many positions that are required. This year, as always, the congregation of North Cleveland Baptist has risen to the occasion in a wonderful way. Our volunteers not only worked during Bible School but many spent weeks in advance preparation. We averaged 188 children and 106 workers.
      We had volunteers who taught and those who led in activities from recreation to crafts. We had volunteers in the several phases of audio/visual work as well as members who manned the many stations at our Family Fun Night. Our members also provided a wonderful variety of food daily for our teachers lounge.
       It is a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful church family.

Exciting and Challenging Times

 
      The next several months at North Cleveland Baptist will most certainly be both of these. While we are all looking forward to the new building and the renovation of much of our current facilities, it is also true that the construction process will create a significant amount of inconvenience, almost all of our education space is affected by this project. The Sunday School rooms in the basement of the Sanctuary will be going away, the preschool and CDC area will be displaced, in part or as a whole, at times during the construction. The children's Sunday School area will have electrical work as well as a walkway connection to the new facility. All of our church administrative offices will be moved.
      There is no real way, at this time, to forecast exactly how we will deal with this reality, but we will. Much of this will depend upon the sequence of the construction and whether or not we have the new building available to move classes into temporarily. There is, however, one certainty; we will all need to be very flexible and realize that our situation and space may very well change from week to week.
     God has guided us to this great step that will, upon completion, leave all of our space much more accessible and updated. I have no doubt that it is worth the temporary inconvenience and I also am very confident of the continued graciousness of our members as we face the natural confusion and momentary lack of structure that such a change will cause.
