Education Ministry
Over the past several weeks we have been asked to consider our level of stewardship-especially as it relates to our finances. As wonderful as that is, we also need to consider that there are many other facets of our lives and our stewardship in those areas is every bit as important. God has uniquely equipped each of us with talents and abilities that he intends for us to use for the benefit of the entire body of Christ and not just for ourselves.
In Romans chapter 12 and verses 4-8 we find these words. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given unto us. If a man?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach, if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
The question that I believe each of us should ask of ourselves is- ?¢‚Ǩ?ìAm I fulfilling the tasks in the body of Christ that He has equipped me for, or is there a deficiency in the body because of my unwillingness to do so??¢‚Ǩ¬ù
Just as our Capital Stewardship Campaign stresses-not equal giving but equal sacrifice, we should also consider that we are not responsible for the gifts that others have been given, but are accountable for how we utilize those that he has entrusted to us. There are no unimportant spiritual gifts or talents. Verlin
