Education Ministry
Online Opportunity for Christian Growth... Many of us find that it is difficult if not impossible to attend a structured class, however that does not mean that we are not in a position to enhance our knowledge of Scripture and sound theological doctrine. Just as many universities have utilized online training courses for those students who cannot make a traditional class schedule, the internet offers wonderful opportunities for Christians desiring to mature but unable to fit a traditional schedule. One such resource can be found at www.ChristianCourses.com. This website is maintained by RBC ministries, the same people who publish the daily devotional "Our Daily Bread." This website has a host of classes that, once you have registered, you can take totally free of charge. You can select the course that you prefer, take as much time as you need, and in some cases even obtain continuing education credit. There are some "certificate" programs with structured curriculum and there are many classes that are stand alone instruction on things as diverse as New Testament Survey and Group Dynamics. (For someone with limited time but interested in personal growth, this can be a very worthwhile opportunity.)
Camping Equipment Needed... The Royal Ambassadors would like to have on hand enough camping equipment to enable them to plan several camp-outs during the year. If you have equipment that is no longer being used, we would ask that you consider donating it to this ministry of the church. Rather than simply collecting dust, it could be a valuable resource for these young men. Items such as: lanterns, camp-stoves, tents, air mattresses, folding tables, utensils, camp cookware, and folding chairs are all items that could be helpful. If you have items to donate, please contact the church education office or one of the RA leaders.
A Quote from CS Lewis: "If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this."
Other Upcoming Events December 16th - Sunday School Workers Meeting - 9:00 a.m. December 16th- NCBC Annex- "Racin' for Lottie" . RA's will be seeking sponsors for their cars. The more money they raise the more they can race. All money raised goes to The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. Your sponsorship for this RA event is crucial. Plan to be here on the 16th to cheer on your sponsored car.
Adults and Older Youth are invited to be a part of NCBC's rebuild/mission team going to the Gulf-Coast during the week of June 1st-7th, 2008. There will be an information meeting in the annex on Sunday, Jan 27th immediately after the evening worship service.
