Education Ministry

NCBC Education Changes

One of the harder things for anyone who is "bi-vocational" in their ministry, as I am, is to prioritize. There is never a shortage of good things that need to be done and areas that need to be addressed. The unfortunate truth, however, is that there are some things that do not receive the attention that they deserve because there are other things that, although not more important, are more visible and demanding.
Recently, God has impressed on the hearts of two of our congregation a passion for areas of the Education Ministry which, I am sure, will benefit from an undivided point-of-view. These areas are Women's and Men's Education Ministries. There is no change in any of our current structure but instead two added positions that will complement the very vibrant men's and women's mission programs that are already in place. The focus of these positions is to insure that the specific and very different Christian Education needs of the men and women in our congregation are planned for both the short and long term. Examples would include: ongoing small group studies, seminars, retreats, and life skill classes.
I am thrilled that Melissa Clayton and Dave Olson have agreed to be our Women's and Men's Education Ministry Directors respectively. Each has a strong passion for the spiritual maturity of the adults in our congregation and have put action to their passion by volunteering to be leaders for these important ministries. Please take time to express to them your appreciation for their willingness to serve our congregation in this way.
I am always available to talk with anyone, however, I am sure that your input in these areas would be both invited and appreciated by our new leaders. A prime example is the Ladies Survey that went out on May 4th. Ladies please take time to provide this valuable information so that our ministry can best provide for the areas that you see as most important.

A Heartfelt Thanks...
...For your support of our RAs and GAs in their mission project to raise funds to help in the rebuild efforts at Union University.
