Education Ministry

More NCBC Education Changes
Please join me in welcoming another new leader in our Christian Education Ministry. April Hutson has accepted the position as our Children's Education Ministries Director. She will coordinate and plan the activities for those in grades 1 through 5. April has previously worked as our preschool director so she is experienced as well as being enthusiastic and dynamic. Her addition will fill a position that has been vacant for some time and will significantly improve our ability to minister to children and their families.

Gulfport Mission Trip
Our team will leave for Gulfport/Pass Christian, MS Sunday June 1st. This week we will be assisting in the building of homes for those who lost theirs during hurricane Katrina some three years ago. I ask that you keep the team in your prayers both for their safety and for opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ as a result of this effort.

Church Work
In the sermon that I delivered this past Sunday, the emphasis was the "work" of the church. I hope that we all take a fresh look at our responsibilities in the process of spreading the Gospel of Christ to those that we come in contact with regularly: those who are our neighbors, our co-workers, our friends, and our relatives. These are the people that we are most likely to be able to influence and at the same time they are the ones who are most important to us.
I would challenge you to intentionally talk to one or more persons this week about their relationship to Christ. Is the prospect of that scary? It might well be. Is it important? It can be eternally important, literally.
Invite them to a class fellowship, a Bible study, or simply buy them a cup of coffee and talk. That is truly "Church Work" and work that will give you great confidence in your contribution to God's Kingdom.
