Music Ministry
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The temperature is finally starting to drop, and it is beginning to feel like fall. Christmas music has been playing in the stores since Halloween. Days like this bring back wonderful childhood memories of getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When the snow started to fall, we pulled out sweaters, jackets, hats and gloves. We went out in the woods the day after Thanksgiving and cut down our Christmas tree and spent the next week decorating it. We played our Disney Christmas albums over and over again. Every Christmas morning we gathered around the tree and Dad read the Christmas story out of Matthew. We prayed and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. That was a time where we would remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.
This is the season of perpetual Joy and Hope. The reason we have such a great Joy and Hope is because God sent His one and only Son down to earth two thousand years ago in the form of a baby. We take this special time out each year to remember the birth of our Savior. I think that we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and buying presents that we forget to stop and remember that we are celebrating the birth of the most important man in history. This Christmas, take some time out and set it aside with your family to remember Jesus and His gift of Hope and Peace.
On Sunday, December 19, at 7:00 pm, the Sanctuary Choir will present the musical Christmas is Jesus. I would like to invite everyone that can to come as we minister through song the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. I hope that you will come and invite your friends and family to take part in this celebration.
