Music Ministry
Good day to all of you faithful Evangel readers. I just wanted to start my article with a brief report on the activities of the past few weeks. The guitar workshop was wonderful. We had 12 people in the class and if you missed the concert you missed a chance to hear an awesome player share his talents. He was phenomenal. Music camp was a great success. We had 37 children everyday. It was funny to see some of the little guys that brought guitars. They looked like walking guitars. All you could see was a guitar and legs, but the children had a good time and they learned a lot about music. I want to thank all of those who took time out of their busy schedules to come and work in Children’s Music Camp. You are truly a blessing!
God has been so good to all of us and He continues to pour out His spirit and blessing upon us in spite of us. I have been doing a lot of study on prayer in the last few months. And have come to a realization that if we are neglecting prayer, we are neglecting God. God feeds our spiritual man through prayer and the Word. If there is anything that we must do, it is pray. Prayer prepares our hearts to receive what God is saying to us through His Word and through our personal time in prayer. Prayer is the pinnacle of our relationship with God. Even Jesus was constantly in prayer and He was deity! He was in constant conversation with His Father God. He prayed in the morning (Mark 1:35) and at night (Matt. 14:23). He prayed before miracles. He prayed before the meal at the feeding of the five thousand, and He prayed mostly alone (John 6:15). If for the brief time that Jesus was on this earth ministering, He needed to spend that much time in prayer, how much more do we need to spend? The Lord said “Pray without ceasing”. We must be in a continuous conversation with the Lord. Sometimes I find that this is the only way I can get through the day. God Bless.
