Music Ministry
Wow, can you believe that the summer is already over and it is time for school to begin? It seems like the kids just got out of school. Already, a lot has happened this summer. I know that I am excited to see what God is going to be doing here in our midst and to see where He is going to take our church and our ministry.
I have been reading Psalm 139 and if you are not familiar with this psalm, it is incredible to read. It lets us know that even though God knows everything about us, He still loved us enough to send His Son to die on a cross for our sins. He knows my comings and goings and He sees me at my best and my worst. And what is even scarier is that He knows what is in my heart and mind. Those things that no one else knows, God is intimately aware of. Even when we try to let the darkness hide us from God?「どィび「s presence, He is still with us and sees every move we make. This psalm tells me that the great and powerful God of the universe thinks of me. And not only does he think of me, but He also formed me in my mother?「どィび「s womb and my life is covered with His fingerprints.
I have many reasons to be excited and to thank God. If we will step back and think of the many ways that God is moving and providing in our lives we would all have a hard time keeping silent. David did not have a hard time giving God praise. We have just a short list here from David in this one psalm. We have a tendency as humans to see the negative side of things and dwell on them. But I challenge you to make a list and begin to dwell on the good things of God, then you will see good things happening in your life. Don?「どィび「t be afraid to rejoice a little bit and get excited about the great and mighty ways God is moving in your life. Let that excitement flow over into your family, friends, and here at church. It will be contagious. If nothing else, we can be excited about our final destination and being at home with God in heaven some day. God Bless, Lanny
