Music Ministry

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

God has really been speaking this passage to me, and for those you who know me well, you know that waiting and patience is not my best character trait. You may also know that this has been going over and over in my head in the form of many songs.

The Lord is speaking to me as I research waiting and patience in the Bible. About how we should wait and how this act of waiting benefits us. In this passage of scripture God is telling us that if we wait for Him, He will give us strength and stamina to run the race that is set before each of us. We are also given instruction to wait with hope. Isaiah 8:17 says "I will wait on the Lord...and I will hope in Him." Waiting is an exercise of faith because when we see that golden opportunity out there and God says no and we have to wait for Him to show us His will and we are living in a position of wait. That takes faith. Waiting is not for the weak. Let me encourage you that if God has told you to wait then He has something better for you. We may not understand it now but when He reveals His will to you, you will see the good things that He has promised. Strength comes when we wait on Him. Hebrews 9:28 promises that "To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation." That is promise enough for me to wait on Him because I am looking for His soon return. God Bless - Lanny
