Complete this statement: Be there or…
When I game that command to my internet search engine, it came up with these hits.
Be there or else. Be there or be uninformed. Be there or be quiet. Be there or be a big loser. Be there or beware. Be there or miss out. Be there or be toast.
Of course, the most common expression was the forced rhyme: Be there or be square! But I had to admire a few variations of this classic clich?©:
Be there or be circle. Be there or be rhombic. and Be there or be a nonspherical cuboid object-shaped thing.
This Sunday we begin our emphasis on being in church during all five of the Sundays in February. While I certainly hope that every person in the North Cleveland Baptist Church family will be in attendance this Sunday morning, the reality is that some won’t be there. Interestingly enough, every absentee will be away for the exact same reason. Simply put, the reason they won’t be here is because…they’ll be somewhere else! That’s too bad. North Cleveland Baptist Church is the place to be throughout February as we study and participate in the five functions of the church.

To abuse a familiar Shakespearean phrase: To be there or not to be there. That is no question at all! Of course I’ll be there! I hope you’ll be there too. And since some of our most faithful people will be telephoning all our absentees Sunday afternoon, I can offer us a new way to complete that opening statement: Be there or…get a phone call saying that you were missed! See you Sunday.

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
