This Sunday morning I will preach the closing message in our series of seven sermons from the 23rd Psalm. I have been blessed in giving this familiar passage a closer look. Prayerfully, God has used these messages to instill a deeper appreciation of what it means for the Lord to watch over us as a Shepherd watches over his sheep. If you missed a sermon or would like a complete set, cassette tapes are available in the office for a nominal fee. By the way, I believe that this Sunday morning’s message is especially applicable for people who need to give greater thought in their lives to eternal and spiritual matters. Is there someone you can invite along with you this week?
This is also the time of year that our leadership begins working on a proposed 2005 Church Budget. Look for this 2005 budget proposal sometime in early November. Through the first three quarters of this year, our budget expenditures exceeded budget receipts by about $9,000.00. Strong fourth quarter and year-end giving will enable us to erase this deficit and complete 2004 “in the black.”
Congratulations to our church family for exceeding our $2,500.00 goal for the Golden Offering for State Missions. North Cleveland Baptist Church is consistently recognized as one of the top Tennessee Baptist churches in per capita giving to missions. This strong priority to mission giving is one of the defining characteristics of our congregation. In a little over a month, we will turn our attention to International Missions and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Now is a good time to consider the generosity of your gift this year to world missions.
I am looking forward to our time together this Lord’s day. Note that Sunday morning’s worship will feature a wonderful medley of hymns about heaven!
