In the Fall of 2000 our church embarked on a Capital Stewardship Campaign named Faith for the Future. It was the third such campaign, following Forward in Faith, and Keeping the Faith. The first two campaigns raised funds primarily for much needed renovations to our church facilities. As a result of these efforts, we now enjoy a fully remodeled Annex, much-improved restrooms, new ceilings, carpets, and lighting in the education areas, and many more enhancements.

The goal of Faith for the Future was simply to pay the indebtedness our church incurred in purchasing the northeast properties along North Ocoee Street. Throughout the past four and a half years numerous people in our church family gave above their regular budget offerings to help us in this quest. At the close of February, we reached the place where all the funds necessary to retire this debt were received! Praise the Lord!

My heartfelt thanks goes to all in our church family who gave generously and sacrificially so this goal might be accomplished. Just as we are grateful for the sacrifices of previous generations who contributed to our church’s welfare, so also will future North Cleveland Baptist family members look back with thanks for those people who achieved this success.

This week, our church voted to designate any excess or additional Faith for the Future gifts toward future church facility projects. Thus, if you want to begin or continue to give to Faith for the Future, know that these additional moneys will be used to help improve our church buildings and properties.

Thanks again. I am proud to pastor such a generous congregation. Jay

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
