Pastor's Page
Throughout the year there are different seasons of mission emphasis in our church. During Christmas and Easter times we turn a great amount of attention to mission education and mission giving. Currently, we are in our church’s most intense season of mission action. More than any other time of year, our church family is performing mission activities.
• This week, Adam and Tiffany Kirkpatrick and Todd Hutson are in Peru helping construct a building on the campus of a Christian Camp.
• Also this week, a group of our students are in North Carolina taking part in a World Changers mission project. (They will bring a report of their week to the church on Sunday night. I hope that you will be in attendance.)
• Brittnee Slaughter is near completion of her local summer mission work with Ocoee Outreach.
• The family of Chris and Lori Heil are in their final days of International Mission Board training for their career as missionaries to Brazil.
• Next week, a team of fourteen will be in Crofton, Maryland giving assistance to David Tucker’s church start: Journey Fellowship.
• Already this year Alex Sturgill participated on a missionary endeavor to Jordon with the Lee University Symphonic Band.
• In September Kristi Burke will be returning to the area of South Africa where her family has previously served in ministry.
Among the things for which I am most proud is North Cleveland Baptist Church’s commitment to missions. Certainly one of the characteristics of a healthy church is that a significant amount of effort and resources are designed to minister to people outside its membership. Conversely, if everything we did were designed to minister only to the people who belong to our congregation, we would be headed toward ministry paralysis.
Therefore, your contribution to missions is vital. I hope you will consider participating in a future mission endeavor. And if you cannot go, we trust that you will be faithful in your prayerful support.
