Pastor's Page

Posted on August 25, 2005 ...

North Cleveland Baptist Church recently celebrated its sixty-eighth birthday! Congratulations! Many sixty-eight year olds are coasting into retirement. But we are proud to say that this congregation is still alive and kicking and working to fulfill its purpose. While we look back upon our past with a sense of pride and appreciation, we also look ahead to what God would have us do in the days ahead.

Toward that end, our Strategic Planning Committee recently completed its proposal of goals and projects for the years ahead. Copies are available this week on the front pews of the sanctuary. You may also secure a copy by contacting our church office or accessing our church website over the internet (www.ncbctn.com).

As you will see, the recommendations include an ambitious number of expansions and improvements to our ministries. By setting and pursing these goals, our church will be more effective in ministry than if we simply maintain the status quo.

After our evening worship service on September 11, there will be an open meeting in the Annex. All church members are encouraged to attend this gathering to share any questions or thoughts they have with the Strategic Planning Committee. It is hoped that the final adoption of this Strategic Plan can take place at a Business Meeting of our church soon after this meeting. I am excited about the future of this church and I hope that you are too! Jay

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
