GO VOLUNTEERS!

No?¢‚Ǩ¬¶this is not a cheer for the Big Orange. Rather it is a call for volunteers to help in a ministry opportunity to our community.

Again this year we will be giving out cups of popcorn at Cleveland?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s annual October 31, Block Party.

Your assistance is vital in helping us prepare and distribute approximately 250 pounds of popcorn in more than 6000 cups! How can you help?

?¢‚Ǩ¬¢ You can help load items Monday afternoon and take them to our booth location.
?¢‚Ǩ¬¢ You staff take a ?¢‚Ǩ?ìshift?¢‚Ǩ¬ù at our Block Party Booth itself putting popcorn into cups and offering it to the those people in attendance.
?¢‚Ǩ¬¢ You can pop popcorn in advance. At the block party, we can give popcorn away faster than we can make it on location. Thus, we have to ?¢‚Ǩ?ìstock up?¢‚Ǩ¬ù ahead of time. You could work here next week using the church?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s popper or take kernels and oil home to pop at your convenience. All popcorn popped in advance needs to be at the church by Monday morning, October 31. This is a great way for folks to help who cannot actually attend the Block Party.
?¢‚Ǩ¬¢ You can help bring the Block Party equipment back to the church when the distribution is complete.

Our worship registration form includes a place for you to sign up to help. All volunteers will be contacted in the week ahead to ensure and explain your participation. Remember Jesus words:
I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward. Mark 9:41 NIV

I admit that giving a cup of popcorn is not EXACTLY the same as giving a cup of water. But the spirit and love of the gift can be the same! And Jesus?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ promise of a reward holds true too. In giving you are rewarded the joy of demonstrating the free grace of God. You will help enhance further the good name of North Cleveland Baptist Church. And you can have all the popcorn you can eat! Thanks in advance for helping.

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
