One of the sizable increases in the 2006 operating budget of North Cleveland Baptist Church is the amount of funding specified for ?¢‚Ǩ?ìMission Support.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù Several years ago our church established this line item in the World Missions section of our budget. This action provided a way for our church to give financial help to its members who participate in various mission endeavors. Since then, this portion of our budget offerings has helped North Cleveland Baptist members serve in South America, The Caribbean, The Middle East, Central America, Africa, Canada, New York, The Smokey Mountains, and many other mission venues.
The Mission Committee has the task of administering the ?¢‚Ǩ?ìMission Support?¢‚Ǩ¬ù funds in our budget. If someone in our church membership is interested in requesting financial assistance for a mission work, he or she needs to submit a formal request in writing to the Mission Committee. This document should describe the location, the purpose, the cost and the specific ministries that will occur. Submissions may be sent to the church office. The Mission Committee will then meet to consider this request and forward any funding recommendation onto the agenda of our church?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s next business meeting. Note that requests should be made far enough in advance to allow this process to be completed.
Anyone familiar with missions knows that there are numerous beneficiaries of mission work. The people served are touched as they receive expressions of God?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s love and grace. The individuals doing the mission work are blessed by being used as instruments of God?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s work. And the church supporting the mission participants receives a more appreciative and servant-hearted membership. I am proud of the impact that missions and ministries make upon the personality of our church. We look forward to helping send more people on mission to more places in 2006. Jay

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
