Pastor's Page

Posted on March 14, 2006 ...

We are now just a little more than 4 weeks away from Easter Sunday. As you know, this is one of our most exciting Sunday?「どィび「s of the year. Why shouldn?「どィび「t it be? The Apostle Paul assures us that it is Jesus?「どィび「 resurrection that gives us the hope of our own resurrection from the grave. (1 Corinthians 15:1-16)
Will you invite someone to celebrate Easter with us? This year I will be preaching Easter Sunday morning about the things that Jesus returned from the grave to give us. It is a message focusing on the things we need that can only be supplied by the resurrected Jesus. Do you know someone who needs what only Jesus can give.
Who of your relatives, neighbors, and co-workers do you want to see come to Christ this Easter? People are more likely to be open to your invitation at Easter than at any other time of year. Plus, they are more likely to accept that invitation if it comes from a good friend or family member. This Sunday we will make available invitations printed up for our Easter Sunday Morning worship services. You are encouraged to take as many as you will use to mail or hand deliver to unchurched colleagues, family members, friends, or acquaintances. Why don?「どィび「t you ask God right now to show you someone to invite?
You may also want to invite people to some of our other Easter week observances:
?ヌャ? On Palm Sunday morning (April 9) I will share a monologue of a character that was witness to Jesus?「どィび「 execution.
?ヌャ? On Palm Sunday evening at 7:00 the Sanctuary Choir will lead in a musical honoring the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. As part of this service, we will share the ordinance of The Lord?「どィび「s Supper.
?ヌャ? At 7:00 p.m. on Maundy Thursday (April 13), Peter Barbatunov with Jews for Jesus will present Christ In the Passover. Those who experience this demonstration will find deeper meaning and enrichment every time they think about the Jewish Passover and each time they receive the Lord?「どィび「s Supper.
?ヌャ? And we are also planning again this year an Easter Sunrise devotional time for the faithful early risers who will join us at 7:00 a.m. on Hardwick Hill.
Your mission is to help get the word out and to pray that lives will be touched and changed. Jay

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
