Occasionally our church experiences a Sunday that is like no other. It is on these days that we have a unique and special opportunity. This Lord?「どィび「s Day is one such day. Following the recommendation of our Personnel Committee our church has designated April 23, 2006 as Jean Cannon Appreciation Sunday. Tributes to Jean will be included in both the morning and evening services. A reception in her honor will be held following our evening worship time.

Recently, Jean Cannon retired from our office staff after sixteen consecutive years of faithful service. No congregation could ask for a more devoted servant than we have known in Miss Jean. In all her duties Jean has been as reliable as clockwork with a commitment to do whatever steps necessary to complete her tasks. She managed our financial records with an extraordinary high expectation of exactness. She structured her time in such a way that payments, deposits, postings, payroll, mailings, and all other responsibilities were completed on time and in order.

You should know that, as your employee, it was not unusual for Jean to work beyond her compensated hours per week in order to see that the job got done. In addition, she intentionally scheduled her vacation time in ways that were least disruptive to the fulfillment of her duties.

Beyond being a good staff member, Jean and Joe Cannon are extraordinary church members. For over 30 years they taught second grade Sunday School with great enthusiasm and devotion. In more ways than we could count, our church has been the beneficiary of their work among us. I strongly encourage you to share your appreciation to Miss Jean through your attendance both Sunday morning and Sunday night, by writing her and Joe a personal note, and by giving generously to the love offering received on her behalf.

Jean often prefaces a comment to me with this question: Do you love me a little bit?「どィャカa whole lot?「どィャカor more than you?「どィび「ll ever know? (When I hear those words I know that she has either found a problem with which she needs my help, or she has done something for which she is extremely proud.) This Sunday, as a congregation, we have the chance to tell her, Jean, we love you more than you?「どィび「ll ever know. Thank you for your help in every way. We are so proud of you. Jay
