Pastor's Page

Posted on January 11, 2007 ...

One of my personality quirks is that I like to finish things. Once I begin a task, I am a bit obsessed to see it through to completion as soon as possible. Uncompleted projects gnaw on my conscience. On the other hand, marking something off my To Do list, gives me great satisfaction!

In the year 2000, North Cleveland Baptist Church began an ?¢‚Ǩ?ìabove and beyond?¢‚Ǩ¬ù stewardship emphasis called Faith for the Future. The initial goal of this giving was to raise funds to complete the purchase of newly acquired land along North Ocoee Street. In March of 2005, our giving to Faith for the Future was sufficient to pay off this property. It was a great feeling to complete this challenge.

Shortly afterwards, the church voted to designate any remaining and future Faith for the Future gifts to our Capital Needs Fund for facility renovations. Last April, the church adopted the replacement of carpet and upholstery in our sanctuary as our next capital needs project. In December, a proposal was presented and adopted not only for new carpet and upholstery but also for extensive sanctuary improvements.

While most of the moneys needed for our Sanctuary Renovations are in hand, approximately $9,000.00 more will enable us to finish the task without withdrawing funds from our church?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s general savings. Once this $9,000.00 is received, Faith for the Future will be complete and we will be prepared to move ahead to our Spring Capital Stewardship emphasis.

North Cleveland Baptist Church has a reputation of faithful giving until the finish of our stewardship goals. (Our most recent example is exceeding our Lottie Moon Offering goal of over $27,500.00. Way to Go!) I am confident that your giving soon will enable us to know again the great satisfaction of completing another ambition. Thank you in advance for being faithful to the finish. It is good to be your pastor. Jay
