Pastor's Page
Approximately two years ago, North Cleveland Baptist Church elected a team with an assignment to develop Long Range Plans for our church. During this process, many aspects of our church?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s ministries were examined and our congregation adopted numerous recommendations. One such recommendation was the creation of a Building Study Committee. This Building Study Committee was elected in the spring of 2006. Under the direction of Sam Bettis, and with the many contributions of architect Mark Goins, a facility plan was presented and adopted which will bring the following improvements.
?Ǭ?Centralize church offices and create an attractive entrance along the south wall of our Sanctuary Building.
?Ǭ?Improve restroom and security facilities on the ground floor of our Education Building.
?Ǭ?Create a multi-purpose building featuring student classrooms, a student worship area, and an elevator giving access to the second floor of our Education Building.
This month, we are entering the next step toward bringing these plans to reality. Needless to say, this is a huge undertaking. We begin now with an inspirational campaign to supply North Cleveland Baptist Church with the needs and opportunities in front of us. My prayer is that during this time God will motivate us all to sacrifice to meet these needs and opportunities with bold faith. In the end, we will find that we raised far more than funding and far more than brick and mortar. We will have raised disciples.
We are calling this campaign, For a Future Generation, based upon the scripture in Psalm 102:18: Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD. God desires us to be concerned not only with ourselves but also with the generations to come. Did you realize that the phrase to all generations appears in the Bible over 20 times?
Today the family of North Cleveland Baptist Church worships, fellowships, prays, studies, works, and gathers in facilities constructed and/or acquired by a previous generation of church members. We are benefactors of THEIR vision, THEIR sacrifice, and THEIR faithfulness. Now it is OUR TURN to invest toward the next generation of our congregation. My prayerful request is that in the months ahead each one of us will ask ourselves: How will the future of our church be different from today and what will be my role in bringing this to fulfillment? Jay
YOU ARE NEEDED!
The Bible presents an exciting challenge in 1 Peter chapter 2: Like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house. It is exciting to think about the place God will use each of us as a living stone in the task at hand.
We need volunteers to take us on this journey. Achieving our plans will be a big venture. But if each of us will accept one small piece of this project, we can get this big job done! This is your chance to make a difference.
In the weeks ahead, you will have the opportunity to serve on one of several teams that will be organized to help spread the word about the campaign and show people how they can respond. The assignments are broken down into smaller jobs, so no one is asked for an unreasonable amount of time. You will be fully trained and prepared for your task. No one will be expected to ask for money or pledges.
Below is a list of our various teams and leaders who have already agreed to work in various areas. A member of one of these teams may contact you in the weeks ahead and ask for your help. When you are asked to participate, please say, ?¢‚Ǩ?ìYES!?¢‚Ǩ¬ù You may also volunteer by calling the church office (476-8524) or by filling out the special section on this week?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s worship registration form.
