Pastor's Page

Posted on July 19, 2007 ...

It is no secret that parents enjoy bragging on their children. Wise moms and dads know that the most important people to whom they should brag about their children are ....their children themselves! It grants us a special sense of pride to witness those times when we can say to them You done good.
Having said that, I want to brag on you, my church family. Several occurrences in recent weeks make me exceptionally proud to be your pastor.
First, scores of folks pulled together to present another wonderful Vacation Bible School again this year. What a testimony to our church's servant spirit. You done good.
Next, I will brag about the way our youth and student leadership carried out this year's Florida Camp. Last Sunday night's report featured these young adults enthusiastically leading our worship in song and testimony. I commend Nathan Brown, Emily Lynn, our student interns and all the chaperones for the sacrifices they made to provide our students such a meaningful experience with the Lord. You done good.
Third, I noticed on my calendar that several of our office, ministerial and maintenance staff members are reaching the anniversary dates of their employment at NCBC. It reminds me of how fortunate we are to have all our church staff members. These individuals give a full effort to provide quality ministries. You done good.
Also, I want to salute our Baptist Men on Mission. A year ago we had no organized men's ministry. Today there is an enthusiastic group working to help us be a better church. Saturday, after a big, delicious breakfast, over 20 men constructed a wheel chair ramp for one of our church families. While the quality of their workmanship was impressive, the height of their fellowship and compassion was even greater! You done good.
Finally, I want to express to our entire church a word of praise for the spirit in which you conducted yourself regarding last Sunday night's Special Business Meeting. Whenever possible, our church's strong preference is to pursue avenues where common consensus can be reached. On the rare occasions when this cannot be done, North Cleveland Baptist Church consistently demonstrates its ability to make decisions in an upright and respectful nature. Once again You done good. Jay
