This Sunday features one of the highlights of the year as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Here are a few suggestions regarding ways you can help yourself and others on this special day.
Invite Unchurched Friends and Family Members. Some people will be more inclined to attend a worship service on a special day like Easter. In your conversations ask people how they plan to observe Easter. If they are available, offer an invitation to them to join in our worship and/or Bible study. Be sure to share the times of our events and to promise to sit with them.
Attend the Sunrise Service. Last week I wrote that Easter occurs earlier this year than any other time in our lives. One ramification of this rarity is that the time the sun rises this year on Easter Sunday is as late in the morning as we will ever experience (7:38 a.m.). So, if you are not an early riser and making it to those extra early Sunrise Services is taxing for you, this Sunday is the best opportunity you ever will have to join us on Hardwick Hill. As I write these words, the weather forecast for Sunday morning is less than ideal, but much can change between now and then. Unless conditions are severe, we will gather at 7:30 with those who attend.
Worship in our 8:30 a.m. Service Guests and occasional attendees are more likely to be at our 11:00 worship time. Being part of the early worship service will free up space in our sanctuary for these worshippers.
Park and Walk Parking will likely be at a premium this Sunday, especially for the 11:00 service. Unless you have physical limitations, will you consider utilizing one of the parking spaces available in the outlying areas? I suggest parking in the lot on our south property in front of the Bradley Baptist Association building's main entrance. I am going to call this area: PREFERRED PARKING in keeping with the New Testament admonition for us to Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another; (Romans 12:10). Those people who Park and Walk in order to leave closer spots, are showing such preference and honor for others. I look forward to our celebration this Sunday. He is Risen! Jay
