Student Ministry
It has truly been a blessing to be a part of the North Cleveland Baptist Church staff this week! While most weeks are good, this one has been great. I have appreciated all the ways you have shown your love for us through various gifts (especially the food!) and notes of encouragement. It’s been a real joy to come to church in the mornings because I am surprised every time. I never know what’s going to be waiting for me on my desk or what types of delicious snacks are going to be available.
Thank you for all the support you have shown us, not only this staff appreciation week, but every week. When you get right down to it, that’s the only way to make a church work. It’s got to be a partnership. As a staff, we do our best to keep the programs running and in place, provide excellent administration of the church’s resources, and teach God’s word as faithfully and diligently as we can. The members of the church take up leadership positions, volunteer their time and effort to the ministry of the church, and simply come and join in the planned activities. This thing called “church” is a two-way street, if one side shuts down the whole thing has a hard time making it.
Just by way of information, I will be absent the next two Sundays. Next Sunday I’ll be preaching at a Disciple Now in Birmingham, AL. I covet your prayers as I seek to lead that group of young people toward a deeper walk with the Lord. The Sunday after next I’ll be in Charlotte, NC, with Jeff Elliot and Matt Moore at the National Youth Workers Convention. I look forward to that time of refreshment, new ideas, and fellowship. I hope you all have a great week and thank you for your support!
