Student Ministry
You may have heard this year’s Disciple Now theme- “Lose Thyself.” You might also be wondering what on earth this means. Well, it’s pretty simple really. This theme is basically a King James way to say “Lose Yourself.” While “Lose Yourself” is more clear and recognizable, “Lose Thyself” is just more fun to say. Thus it is our theme.
This theme is taken from Matthew 16:24-25. In these verses Jesus is telling His disciples what it takes to be a true follower of Christ. We must lose our pride, selfish ambition, and ultimately, our entire self, in order to follow Jesus daily. This is a very challenging theme, but truly it is the way Jesus calls us to live. And being more like Jesus is what Disciple Now is all about.
There are still more tickets available for the Men and Boys Night Out to Atlanta on March 27. The tickets are $10 a person, sign up today. Also, continue to sign up for the World Changers Weekend on April 2-3. This training event for our summer mission trip costs $40 and will be an overnight trip. It will be in Murphy, NC, and we will be staying in the Little Brasstown Baptist Church. If you are planning to go to the summer mission trip you need to go to this training weekend. For more questions call the church office.
Finally, I want to thank all the volunteers who have made Disciple Now happen. Thank you for pouring your time and energy into our students. We could not have done it without you!
