Student Ministry

Posted on July 13, 2004 ...

This week our students will be in Savannah, GA, participating in a mission trip. We will be taking part in a camp called World Changers. World Changers is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. It was at my first World Changers project, in Brockton, Montana, when I was fifteen years old that I felt my call to ministry. Now, eleven years later, I’m engaged in full-time ministry and bringing my own group of students to World Changers. It is awesome to see what the Lord does in our lives to bring together His plan!

I am excited for our students. We will be joining some 300 other youth from all over the country in Savannah. We will have a chance to get to know some of these other folks, as our students will be divided up into crews that are made up of people from different churches. The crews will then go to their worksite and tackle the job that is before them. Some will be painting, some roofing, some installing new windows and doors, and others will be doing landscaping and building wheelchair ramps. All the way around it should be an exciting week.

I ask that you, our church family, remember us as we spend the week in Savannah working. Pray for our health, that we will not dehydrate in the hot sun and stay free from sickness or injury. Pray also that God moves in a new way in the lives of the students who are going. The participants are Joni Wiltshire, Charlie Hysinger, Saundra Randolph, Jonathan Barrow, Richard Bates, Katie Hamilton, Brandon Griswold, Luke Littrell, Jessica Mason, Nick Mason, James McCluskey, Nathan Randolph, Molly Simmons, Heather Teague, Brooke Ziegler, and myself. Pray that we have traveling mercies and a great time! I look forward to sharing with you when we get back all the amazing things that God will do while we are at World Changers.
