Student Ministry

Posted on April 8, 2005 ...

This past Monday night I had the pleasure of spending a couple hours with six of our college students. We gathered to kick off our new College Bible Study. We ate, talked, laughed, and explored the Word of God. I wanted to write about the great time we had so that the rest of the church knows what's going on and to invite other college students to be involved with this opportunity.

The College Bible Study meets at my house and begins at 7:00 p.m. every Monday night. If you need directions to our place call me at the church office (476-8524) during office hours, track me down at church, email me, or give me a call at home. I'll gladly give you directions. We will serve dinner, so come get some free food. Right now we are studying the book of Acts. It seemed appropriate to explore the birth of the church as we began a new thing in our college ministry. Also you don't need to bring anything to Bible Study, except your Bible and a friend (if you'd like).

If you are a college student I hope you will give us visit. Joni and I are excited about having you in our home and we look forward to hanging out with you and getting to know you better. I remember very well how hectic life can get during the college years, but I hope you will make time for this. I pray that our time together will be refreshing and a break from the grind. Hope to see you Monday!

Hanging of the Green
6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 30
Hanging of the Green is a worship service centered around the songs and symbols of the Holiday Season. As the Sanctuary is decorated with sights and sounds, worshipers see how candles, greenery, poinsettias, manger scenes, and other objects become part of our Christmas traditions.
