Student Ministry

Posted on February 23, 2006 ...

The Youth Evangelism Conference is just around the corner and I wanted to give you a few last minute details about the trip. We will be leaving for Nashville at 4:45 pm on March 3, so be here before then. We will be staying at the Pear Tree Inn while we?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢re in Nashville, phone number (615) 834-4242. For the rest of Friday night and on Saturday we?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll have YEC activities. We?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll eat on the road Saturday night and be home around 9:00 p.m. Be sure and bring $15-20 for food, snacks, and any items you might want to buy from the conference. Also, remember that the Bradley Baptist Association will be providing the transportation and there will be over a hundred other students from sister churches in our county joining us. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s going to be a lot of fun!

The theme for YEC is ?¢‚Ǩ?ìRevolution.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù A revolution is basically a dramatic change, most often in social movements or governments. When we think about a revolution we often think about violent uprisings. While we do not want to encourage violence in our student?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s lives, we do want Jesus to rise up in their hearts and be the most important thing to them. The whole idea is for God to revolutionize and make changes in us.

I would ask for your prayers as we attend this conference. Pray that Christ would revolutionize thousands of students from all over our state. If you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢re still interested in going we have only two slots left, so sign up quickly. Most of you have already paid, but if you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve not paid yet, please do so, too. Thanks so much and I look forward to YEC!
