Student Ministry
It's almost complete! We are near the end of June and that also means we are near the end of our Alabaster Project. Overall, especially for a pilot run, the project went very well. We had many students show up on Monday nights to help with our Visitation Program. We were able to make some really good visits and make contact with people who had been away from church for several weeks. We also had good success with our Community Outreach Events on Tuesdays. Our students handed out more than 200 flyers inviting children and families to our Back Yard Bible Clubs and Vacation Bible School. Speaking of Back Yard Bible Clubs, those were a hit also! The first one was good, but not what we had anticipated. However, the second one blew us away! In total we ministered to more than 60 children and adults in the community during the Back Yard Bible Clubs! I have enjoyed getting to know some of the children and teenagers in the community around us and I hope that NCBC can continue to reach these people even past VBS and the summer months. We all have a great opportunity to stay in touch with these families as the entire church body is invited to come visit with us this Sunday Evening! If talking with people isn't your "cup of tea" you can still be effective in visitation just by being part of the group that makes the visit. I know our students have been apprehensive about our Monday evening visitation, but I have been excited to see them become more comfortable over the past few weeks. In fact, several of them are "leading out" at the visits we are making! Finally, I want to ask for your prayers for Summer Camp 2007. If you have seen the posters hanging around the church with the dirty bathroom mirror and the word "IDENTITY" plastered across the top then you know what our theme is! We are taking a look at ourselves and what it means for us and others to see Christ and not ourselves. If you are reading this on Sunday morning then we have less than 12 hours before the busses pull out with more than 75 students and adults embarking on this trip to Laguna Beach, FL.. Again, please remember the teachers, worship leaders, chaperones, students, and camp speaker in your prayers during this first week in July! Thank you NCBC for all of your support of the Student Ministry, lives ARE being changed. Much Love Nathan
