Student Ministry

Posted on May 16, 2008 ...

Jump is a verb.
Jump is a word filled with energy, motion, and action. Jump brings to mind images of children jumping off benches, jumping into a pile of leaves, and jumping into a father's arms.
Jump is playful... and risky.
This summer the Student Ministry theme will simply be "JUMP!" We want to encourage everyone who will to "JUMP!" in with us. During the summer months our students and other leaders will lead our Wednesday night Bible studies. We plan on looking at stories from the Bible where ordinary people like you and I jumped in head first to the life that Christ asks us to live! It is our sincere desire that during this summer study that our students will "JUMP!" into a deeper understanding of their faith. In Luke at the end of chapter six the Bible puts it like this, "But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don't work them into your life, you are like a dumb carpenter who built a house but skipped the foundation. When the swollen river came crashing in, it collapsed like a house of cards. It was a total loss." This summer we hope to give our students the opportunity to put what they're learning into action. If we study the Bible but don't put into action the things we learn from it, then we are DUMB! That's not our theme this summer, the theme is to "JUMP!" Will it require action? YES. Will it be tiring at times? YES. Will it be fun? YES. Will it be risky? YES. Will it be worth it? "JUMP!" and find out for yourself!
Just a note: Each Wednesday evening we will be rotating from house to house utilizing the swimming pools of families in our community. If you can host us one Wednesday evening please let the Student Ministry Office know ASAP! Also, keep in mind that as of May 28th our Summer Schedule begins. We will meet at the church at 6:00 p.m. and leave for our destination at 6:05 p.m. We will return to the church between 8:45 and 9:00 p.m.!

ADULTS STAND BY AS WE UNVEIL OUR "JUMP!" CAMPAIGN IN THE COMING WEEKS! THIS WILL BE GEARED TOWARDS RECRUITING ADULTS WHO WILL JOIN US IN THE AWESOME OPPORTUNITY OF STUDENT MINISTRY!
Much Love, Nathan
